CHARTER PAGE
OUR CHARTER, AS DIRECTED BY
ROY RICHARD:
From the desk of your
outgoing president:
The computer club is a group of people interested in
furthering their knowledge of computers. To attain that goal I have
endeavored to organize beginners computer classes, and special interest
groups such as groups interested in windows 3.1 and windows 95. What I am proposing now is to have two hours on a
Thursday have two hours on a Thursday afternoon from 3:00 P. M. to 5:00 P.
M. as a computer help day. If you have a question about a program or need
some help in using the program, feel tree to come down during the
designated time.
The computer club needs volunteers to exist. The computer
classes which have been provided are taught by volunteers. The computer
room is open only when there is a monitor who has volunteered to be in
charge of the room. The person who makes up the schedule as to when the
room is open and arranges to let the volunteer monitors know when they are
scheduled to work is also a volunteer. In order to have the computer room
open from 1:00 P.M. to 4:00 P. M. five days a week we need about 25
volunteers to give three hours to the club each month. If you are
wondering why we have not had any more guest speakers at our monthly
meetings, fear not we will try to correct that soon.

CURRENT EVENTS:
THE TALENT IN OUR LITTLE CLUB IS BURSTING; SOME HAVE COME
FORWARD AND ARE PUTTING IT TO GOOD USE, OTHERS ARE PERHAPS SHY AND WILL
WAIT AWHILE BEFORE THEY COME FORWARD AND THAT'S ALL RIGHT TOO. TALK ABOUT
QUESTIONS--WE SURE HAD THEM AT THE LAST MEETING. WE HAVE AN EXCITING
GROUP. LET'S KEEP THE EXCITEMENT GOING.
OUR PRESIDENT, ROY RICHARD, IS CERTAINLY GETTING US OFF TO
A GOOD START AND AREN'T WE LUCKY TO HAVE FOLKS LIKE CAROL SAWYER, A
PROFESSIONAL COMPUTER TEACHER, CARL MULLISON, BOB RASMUSSEN AND JULI YALE
IN OUR GROUP.
MAYBE ONE OR SOME OF YOU ARE HAVING A PROBLEM WITH YOUR
FAX OR E-MAIL WHERE SOME OF US CAN HELP YOU. NEVER FEEL TOO EMBARRASSED TO
ASK A QUESTION. IT IS A FACT THAT FOR EVERY QUESTION ASKED, FIVE OTHER
PEOPLE WERE WAITING FOR THAT VERY SAME ANSWER. BOB RASMUSSEN HAS OFFERED
HIS SERVICES TO ANY AND ALL WHO MAY NEED HELP. PLEASE CALL HIM AT 5200.
AS OF NOW OUR VICE PRESIDENT IS JIM MCFETRIDGE. JULI YALE
IS FILLING IN AS SECRETARY BUT EVEN SHE IS AWAY ON VACATION.
ELIZABETH JOHNSON IS OUR TREASURER. (PLEASE SEE HER IF YOU
NEED TO PAY YOUR DUES)
FEE MEMBERSHIP IS $5.00 PER PERSON TO COVER WHATEVER
EXPENSES WE MIGHT INCUR. TAKE A MOMENT TO REGISTER WITH OUR TREASURER, LIZ
JOHNSON. MY UNDERSTANDING IS THAT YOUR DUES WILL COVER JANUARY THROUGH
DECEMBER. IT COULD BE THAT WE MAY EVENTUALLY GET A MEMBERSHIP CARD.
COMING EVENTS:
FEBRUARY 11th AT 10 AM (2nd TUESDAY) WE WILL OFFER A
WORKSHOP ON " SPREADSHEET". THE TWO ''WORD PROCESSING''
SESSIONS HELD IN JANUARY WENT OFF WITH SOME
SUCCESS. THERE WAS SOME WELCOME INPUT FROM EVERYONE, AND WE LOOK FORWARD
TO MORE SUCH SESSIONS IN THE FUTURE.
PAGE THREE-A: (Feb. 97)
IF MOST ARE AGREEABLE, WE WILL HAVE A GUEST SPEAKER AT OUR
MARCH MEETING. HIS NAME IS SCOTT DUNLAP AND HE IS WITH ''BUSINESS SYSTEMS
CONSULTANTS''. GOOD CHANCE HE CAN ANSWER MOST QUESTIONS WE MIGHT ASK.
MANY HAVE ASKED FOR HELP AND MANY HAVE OFFERED ASSISTANCE.
YES, WE'RE ON OUR WAY. THE NEWSLETTER GOT A VOTE OF CONFIDENCE TO CARRY
ON. IT IS UNDERSTOOD THAT THE EXPENSE OF THE PAPER WILL BE MET BY THE
COMPUTER CLUB.
HAVE YOU A COMPUTER FOR SALE? DO YOU WANT TO BUY A
COMPUTER? LET ME KNOW AND I WILL PUT IT IN THE NEWSLETTER. PLEASE KEEP IN
MIND THAT THIS IS YOUR NEWSLETTER AND I NEED INPUT FROM YOU. AS OF NOW, I
HAVE HAD NO OTHER INPUT OTHER THAN THE PRESIDENT'S CHARTER PAGE.
WE HAVE HAD NO LUCK GETTING OUR NEW PROJECTOR TO FUNCTION.
PERHAPS BY THE TIME OF OUR NEXT MEETING, IT WILL BE WORKING.
SICK LIST:
IF YOU WERE NOT AWARE, CAROL SAWYER HAS BEEN ILL AND WAS
FORCED TO CANCEL SOME OF HER CLASSES. WE WISH HER A SPEEDY RECOVERY.
TREASURY BALANCE:
WE NOW HAVE 62 PAID UP MEMBERS. THAT MEANS WE SHOULD HAVE
A BALANCE OF $310.00. LIZ JOHNSON WILL GIVE A MORE ACCURATE TREASURY

VOTED INTO OFFICE IN APRIL.
