This class will cover the BASIC steps of the E-Mail Program. Class will use Vistas Windows Mail for teaching purposes but steps learned can be applied to Outlook and Outlook Express. We will have several hand-on exercises applying the topics listed in the outline.

DESCRIPTION:

This class covers the basics of Word Processing. The computer program we will be using in class is Microsoft Word 2007. The concepts and functions discussed are available in Microsoft Word 97-2003 and most full function word processing applications.

 

OUTLINE OF TOPICS:

Day One:

      Opening new and existing documents

      Saving documents into formats that can be shared through e-mail with non-word 2007 user.

      Using PAGE RULERS to set margins, tabs and columns.

      Formatting text size, shape and color

      Selecting, moving deleting, copying and using the FORM PAINTER to create professional Look

& Feel for a document.

Day Two:

      Working with GRAPHICS to insert pictures, clipart and watermarks into letters, fax cover sheets,

flyers, memos and personal stationary.

Day Three:

      Use skills and concepts from previous sessions to create a PERSONAL SEASONAL

STATIONERY template.

NOTES:

You can bring your own clip art or pictures on a thumb drive.

PREREQUISITES;

The student should be a computer user whose class goal is to learn to use a particular application or its advanced features.

 

A student is expected to know how to:

      Use the keyboard and mouse,

      Open and close a program,

      Locate a file on a hard drive, flash drive ( thumb drive) or CD,

      Find and move a file from one place to another,

      Understand the purpose of the right click,

      Use a tool bar and HELP,
